The event brought together families, friends, and supporters for an evening filled with cultural pride, gratitude, and festive joy.
In her warm and inspiring welcome message, President Ms. Florencia-Oliva Rosal Steiner highlighted the deeper essence of the Christmas season. “Christmas is more than lights, songs, and gifts,” she said. “Christmas is about sharing — the same sharing that began with the birth of Jesus Christ, the greatest gift of all. His coming reminds us that love grows when it is given, and joy multiplies when it is shared. So tonight, let’s share joy. Let’s share laughter, stories, and good food. Let’s celebrate the friendship that binds us as Ilocanos, as Filipinos, and as one family here in Austria. And let’s remember that what we share tonight — this spirit of generosity and togetherness — also reaches our kababayans back home.”
Ms. Rosal Steiner expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the continued support shown by the members of Timpuyog Ilokandia and the broader Filipino community in Austria, emphasizing the group’s ongoing commitment to cultural solidarity and service.
Adding to the evening’s significance, Consul General Zoilo Velasco of the Philippine Embassy delivered an inspirational message that resonated deeply with attendees. His presence underscored the enduring partnership between the Filipino community and the Philippine government in promoting unity and cultural heritage abroad.
The celebration featured lively dance performances and the joyful singing of Christmas carols rendered by officers and members of the organization. These presentations showcased the rich traditions and talent of the Ilocano community, further elevating the festive spirit.
